There will be more job opportunities in 2018 for Malaysian jobseekers as 30% of employers are planning to increase their hiring activity, an increase of 12% compared to last year, according to the latest Jobstreet Job Outlook Report for Malaysia.

The report also showed that 15% of employers surveyed mentioned that they plan to maintain the same hiring level in 2018 as they did last year. The data also observed a drop of 5% in hiring freeze compared with last year.

The growing confidence in hiring correlates with an increase in job postings, a 9% increase year-on-year.

Jobstreet.com Malaysia's country manager Chook Yuh Yng said that both employers and candidates are sharing a more optimistic outlook towards the job market this year and among the key drivers of this outlook are the rise of startups, expansion of local businesses, as well as the entry of foreign companies that lead to more job creations and the need for diversified skills.
