INDIA - EMPLOYABILITY AMONG GRADUATES RISING (LIVEMINT)

Employability of Indian graduates is rising and employability is even higher for fresher engineers, reports LiveMint.  Using data compiled by the Confederation of Indian Industries, All India Council of Technical Education, United Nations Development Program, People strong and Wheebox, LiveMint found that since 2014, overall employability among graduates has risen from 34% to 46%, a jump of more than 35%. Fresh engineers were found to have 52% employability. Within the engineering domain, those pursuing computer sciences have the highest employability. Overall, the improvement in the employability factor will have three key impacts-one, the competitiveness of graduates will improve, second, more quality employment will be demanded, and third, industries will find it easier to get a job-ready workforce.
